Russian, Chinese Ships Kick Off Joint Naval Exercise

China and Russia are in the midst of a joint maritime exercise in the Yellow Sea, reports MSNBC.
The large-scale Maritime Cooperation-2012 exercise, being held off the resort city of Qingdao, began on Sunday and is scheduled to run through Friday.
On Saturday, the Russian guided-missile cruiser Varyag was reported to have arrived in the area.
Three Udaloy-class destroyers and three support ships from Vladivostok were also sent to participate, said officials.
