The Russian military size in Syria has doubled over the past month, say U.S. security officials cited by Reuters.
About 2,000 Russian personnel were in Syria when Moscow began its airstrikes on Sept. 30. That number has now increased to about 4,000, said the officials on Thursday.
Russia's air fleet in Syria, which includes 34 fixed-wing aircraft and 16 helicopters, are being operated out of four bases, said U.S. officials.
