Parliamentary speaker Shwe Mann has been ousted as the leader of the ruling party in Burma, reports Reuters.
Security forces on Wednesday reportedly surrounded the headquarters of the ruling Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) in the capital, Naypyitaw, as well as Mann's house.
Party members said he lost a power struggle with President Thein Sein three months before a general election, reported the Australian Broadcasting Corp.
