Rubis-Class Attack Boats Begin To Make Way For New Suffren-Class Submarines

The French navy is preparing to retire its first Rubis-class nuclear powered attack submarine after 35 years of service, reports defence-aerospace.com. The Saphir has just completed her final patrol and is on her way to Cherbourg for dismantling. The sub is scheduled to be formally decommissioned in late July, reported the French Armed Forces Ministry. The Rubis class is to be replaced by the Suffren class.
