North Korea's rubber stamp Parliament has decided to meet in January, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
On Tuesday, the standing committee of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) met and decided that the eighth session of the 14th SPA would take place on Jan. 17.
The agenda is slated to include discussions of state budget issues; organizational matters; adoption of a law on the protection of the Pyongyang dialect; and the work of the central prosecution office.
The SPA is the highest organ of state power under the North's constitution, but it rubber-stamps decisions by the ruling Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), noted experts.
Separately, North Korea also plans to hold a key party meeting late this month to review achievements of the past year and discuss next years’ projects ahead of the January meeting.
