The British Royal Marines have activated their newest unit in Scotland, reports the U.K. Ministry of Defense.
The 43 Commando unit, which stood up on Tuesday at HM Naval Base Clyde, is the second Royal Marine formation in Scotland, and the largest in the U.K. with 790 personnel.
The previous 43 Commando was disbanded after World War II after seeing action in the Mediterranean, Italy and the Adriatic.
