Romania Selects Quantum Systems Vector Reconnaissance Systems Through EU SAFE Program

The Romanian Ministry of National Defense selected Quantum Systems to provide Vector reconnaissance systems, funded by the European Union’s SAFE (Security Action for Europe). Announced on May 28, 2026, the contract marks Quantum Systems’ first SAFE-supported procurement project and expands the Romanian Armed Forces’ existing fleet of Vector systems.

The acquisition supports Romania’s tactical surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities while reinforcing ongoing industrial cooperation and co-production efforts within the country.

The Vector AI is an electric vertical take-off and landing reconnaissance system designed to provide real-time intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance data. By integrating fixed-wing flight efficiency with vertical take-off and landing capabilities, the platform can operate in a wide range of environments.
