Response To Warship Sinking Leads To New Military Leadership

The South Korean government has replaced its senior military leaders after the resignation of Gen. Lee Sang-eui, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, reports the Korea Times.

Lee resigned Sunday, taking responsibility for the mishandling of the sinking of the corvette Cheonan in March. Seoul has blamed North Korea for the sinking.

Gen. Han Min-koo, the army chief of staff, was named as Lee's replacement.
