The U.S. Dept. of Defense has dispatched a sea-based X-band radar system to Asia in response to recent nuclear threats by the North Korean leadership, reports Fox News.
The radar will be stationed about 1,000 miles off the coast of the Korean peninsula and will help the U.S. military to detect North Korean missile launches, said a U.S. defense official on Tuesday.
A similar unit was deployed to the region last fall.
