Request Made For U.S. Lightweight Torpedoes To Equip New Patrol Aircraft

The Indian government has requested the purchase of new lightweight torpedoes for its planned fleet of P-8I Neptune maritime patrol aircraft, reports the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
The agency said the potential US$86 million Foreign Military Sales contract covers 32 Mk 54 all-up round torpedoes; three recoverable exercise torpedoes; a training shape; containers; spare and repair parts; and associated logistics support.
