The growing number of foreign military bases in East Africa could be harmful to stability in the region, says a new report cited by the East African (Nairobi, Kenya).
Western countries, China, India and Turkey have been projecting power through East Africa, primarily in a cooperative manner to combat piracy and terrorism, support peace operations and provide humanitarian aid, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
