The U.N. Security Council has extended an arms embargo and other sanctions on the Democratic Republic of Congo for another year, reports the U.N. News Service.
The measures, now renewed through Nov. 30, 2011, also include a travel ban and assets freeze on violators of the embargo.
The council urged Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to extend the Group of Experts responsible for monitoring the embargo for the same period and called on the group to focus on Congolese areas affected...
