The United States has promised Pakistan two P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft to replace the planes destroyed in last month's terrorist attack on a naval base in Karachi, reports the Dawn (Pakistan).
Also to be provided will be an unspecified number of F-16s and spare parts, diplomatic sources said.
Pakistan reportedly intends to use the Orions for counterterrorism and surface and underwater reconnaissance operations.
