Renamo Base In Zambezia Province Now In Military Hands; Rebels Flee

The Mozambican military says it has taken over a major base of the Renamo rebels in the Morrumbala district of the nation’s central Zambezia province, reports domestic media, as cited by the Mozambique News Agency.
The Renamo base was established late in 2015 and declared a "general staff headquarters," noted a recent report on the STV independent television station.
The rebels reportedly launched attacks in Morrumbala and neighboring districts from the base.
