The Finnish government is considering a major increase to its peacekeeping contingent serving with the international coalition in Afghanistan, reports the Helsingin Sanomat.
Under a proposal being discussed, more than 100 Finnish peacekeepers would deploy to Afghanistan in the early summer to boost security ahead of the planned presidential election in that country, according to unnamed government sources.
The new forces would serve with other Finnish troops in Mazar-i-Sharif...
