The U.N. wants a force equipped by the end of the year to defeat a Ugandan terrorist group.
On Wednesday, representatives of the United Nations and African Union set out a new regional strategy against the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebel group led by Joseph Kony, reports the U.N. News Serice.
The LRA has been forced out of Uganda, but in recent years has continued its activities in Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan.
