Refurbished Base Opens Air Traffic Area

The Estonian Ministry of Defense has officially opened the air traffic area of the Amari Air Base, which is being refurbished with NATO assistance, reports the ministry.
The air traffic area, where the ribbon was cut Wednesday, is the third element of the base to be completed, joining the maintenance complex and the fuel facility, officials said.
The base is scheduled to be fully operational in 2012, after completion of the navigation system and administrative area.
