Reforms To Lead To Loss Of Many Helicopter Pilots

A top official says reforming Russia's air force will result in the dismissal of up to one-third of the service's helicopter pilots, reports Interfax-AVN.
Under planned reforms, helicopter groups attached to air bases will be the primary tactical unit of army aviation, said Col. Alexei Lande, the acting head of army aviation.
A school for pilots is being established in Krasnodar, while the Syzran helicopter school is turned into a training center, the colonel said. ...
