Tunisia is holding a referendum on a new constitution that would hand President Kais Saied greater powers, reports Reuters.
Turnout for Monday’s vote was expected to be low with little popular enthusiasm for the move amid an ongoing economic crisis. Analysts expect the constitution to be approved.
Opposition critics have called the referendum a coup attempt and warned that it would end democracy in Tunisia.
