Red Cross Demands Proof That Seized Soldier Is Still Alive

The Red Cross has made a public appeal to Hamas to provide proof that a captured Israeli soldier is still alive, the BBC reports.
The organization said there has been "no sign of life" from the 24-year-old Gilad Shalit since October 2009, when he was seen on a video.
This Saturday will mark the fifth anniversary of Shalit's capture by three armed groups during a cross-border attack.
