Chadian government troops fought with rebels twice this week in the eastern part of the country, Reuters reports.
The military battled the FPRN rebel group, led by ex-colonel Adam Yacoub, near Tamassi on Chad's border with Sudan, said officials.
More than 100 rebels and nine soldiers were killed, and 80 wounded rebels were taken prisoner in the incidents on April 24 and 28, government officials said.
