About 600 rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo have surrendered their weapons following the inauguration of President Felix Tshisekedi, reports Agence France-Presse.
Rebels handed over AK-47 rifles, hunting shotguns, machetes, knives, arrows and various amulets to the Kasai-Central provincial authorities following the swearing in of Tshisekedi on Jan. 24, said local officials on Saturday.
