Rebel Hideouts Assaulted Near Turkish Border

Opposition sources say that Syrian government forces have attacked rebel hideouts in the northern part of the country near the border with Turkey, reports Deutsche Presse-Agentur.

Security forces took control of two areas Tuesday near Maaret al-Nomaan, a hub of the opposition Free Syrian Army in Idlib province.

Two civilians and one soldier were killed in fighting in the city of Taftanaz, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which is based in the U.K.
