Security forces in the Philippines killed dozens of Islamic State-linked militants in an operation over the weekend, according to an army general cited by Reuters.
The general said that ighting began on Friday on the southern island of Mindanao after Philippine soldiers found a well-protected base belonging to a Muslim separatist faction known as the Maute group.
