U.S.-backed forces fighting the Islamic State in northern Syria say they have taken control of several neighborhoods from the terrorists in the town of Tabqa on Friday, reports Reuters.
Members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an alliance of Kurdish and Arab fighters, have been trying to seize the town and the adjacent Euphrates dam.
