Raytheon says it has completed flight trials of its new Advanced Combat Radar (RACR) at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., reports Aviation Week & Space Technology.
Six test flights were performed aboard an Air Force F-16D Block 50 in July, but were only announced recently.
The flights marked the first time that the RACR had been flown on any platform, according to Raytheon officials.
The RACR is said to be 90 percent in common with the APG-79 and APG-82 airborne radars. ...
