Raytheon Chosen To Supply New Patriot Radar

The U.S. Army has selected Raytheon to provide a new radar for Patriot air defense systems, reports the defense firm.
Under a $384 million deal, Raytheon will deliver six production-representative Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensors (LTAMDS) to the Army, the company announced on Thursday.
The radar uses gallium nitride (GaN) technology integrated into a single main array and two smaller arrays to the rear to provide 360-degree coverage.
