The Chinese navy has acknowledged that its sole aircraft carrier is conducting exercises in the disputed South China Sea, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
The Liaoning carrier conducted takeoff and landing drills on Monday in the region with J-15 fighter jets and several ship-borne helicopters, said a military source.
