Radios For Special Operations Forces Being Replaced

The U.S. Special Operations Command has awarded Harris Corp., RF Communications Division, Rochester, N.Y., a contract for new radio systems, reports the Dept. of Defense.
The $400 million deal covers the replacement of multi-band, inter/intra-team radios and the AN/PSC-5D multi-mission radio with AN/PRC-152(V)5/6, AN/PRC-152A(V)1/2, and AN/PRC-117G(V)3(C) radios.
The replacement program is not expected to last more than five years, according to a Pentagon release.
