Radicalism Seen On The Rise Among Settlers

A senior Israeli military officer says there is a growing radical fringe among Jewish West Bank settlers, reports Haaretz.

The unnamed officer said most settlers are law-abiding, but warned of the increase in violent attacks against Israeli troops and Palestinians in recent years.

Such extremists object to military efforts to ease restrictions on Palestinians, including removing checkpoints and reducing the military presence in Palestinian cities, he said.
