Responding to criticism over the sinking of a South Korean ship, North Korea has threatened to impose harsher punishment on a U.S. citizen already serving eight years of hard labor, the BBC reports.
Aijalon Mahli Gomes, a former English teacher in South Korea, was arrested in January after illegally crossing into North Korea from China.
