Provincial Official Kidnapped, Beheaded

The beheaded body of a provincial official has been found on the side of the road in central Afghanistan, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The decapitated remains of Jawad Zehak, leader of the provincial council in Bamian, were recovered Tuesday in Parwan province.

Afghanistan's main intelligence service, the National Directorate of Security, blamed the Taliban for Zehak's abduction and killing.
