Quito, the Ecuadorian capital, was hit with a series of protests this week, reports Reuters. On Wednesday, demonstrators took to the streets to protest the death of lawyer Maria Belen Bernal, who the government says was murdered by her husband, a police instructor. Her husband has since fled. President Guillermo Lasso pledged to track down and prosecute the suspected murderer.
