Proposed Defense Budget Goes Up By 10 Percent

The Pakistani defense budget is in line for a 10 percent boost for the next year, reports the Press Trust of India.
The 2012-13 budget, presented to Parliament on Friday, totals US$5.8 billion, up from US$5.3 billion in the previous year.
Actual expenditures last year came to about US$5.5 billion, according to the latest documents.
Defense spending makes up about 18 percent of Pakistan's federal budget.
