Kurdish commanders in northern Iraq are impatiently waiting for weapons promised by the Canadian government, reports CBC News.
Senior peshmerga commanders told CBC News they have given Canadian officials all of the assurances required to make sure that the weapons will be used in accordance with international law.
In February, Ottawa pledged small arms, ammunition and optical sights when the then-new Liberal government revamped the Canadian mission in Iraq.
