January 14 2011

South Korea

Production of South Korea's K21 amphibious infantry fighting vehicle will soon resume after design problems were fixed, the Korea Herald reports.

The IFV is expected to return to service in April.

K21's have sunk twice in the past two years, including a July 2010 incident in which one soldier was killed, noted Defense News.

Four tests have been conducted since problems were identified in November, said an official at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration.
