Production Looms For Cheongung SAM, Says DAPA

South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) says an indigenous surface-to-air missile system will enter full-rate production soon, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
The Cheongung, or M-SAM, system recently completed a successful test launch, finalizing its quality certification, officials said on Thursday.
Development began in 2011 with the intention of replacing the air force's aging MIM-23 Hawk SAM systems.
