A Thai general aligned with the Red Shirt anti-government protest movement was shot on Thursday, reports the Voice of America News.
Maj. Gen. Khattiya Sawasdiphol, popularly known as "Seh Daeng," was within the Red Shirts' barricaded rally site when he was shot, possibly by a sniper.
The general was being interviewed by the New York Times at the time of the incident.
Two explosions went off in the area shortly after the general was hit, according to witnesses.
