Forces from the internationally recognized government of Yemen, backed by a Saudi-led coalition, have gained control of the Red Sea city of Mokha, say military officials cited by Reuters.
Forces loyal to President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and allied militias launched an offensive earlier this month to capture Red Sea ports held by Houthi rebels. Doing so helps to control the strait of Bab al-Mandeb, a crucial chokepoint for shipping.
