Defense officials say India has successfully test-fired a nuclear-capable ballistic missile off the coast of the eastern Orissa state, reports the Indo-Asian News Service.
The Prithvi-II missile was fired on Friday from a mobile launcher at the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur as part of an army user trial, officials said.
The medium-range missile has a maximum range of 220 miles (350 km) and can carry a 1,100-pound (500-kg) payload.
