Prime Minister Wants Troops Out Of Afghanistan By 2015

Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen has indicated that he would like to withdraw Denmark's 700 troops from Afghanistan by 2015, if not sooner, Reuters reports.

No exit date has been previously mentioned by the prime minister.

Most Danish troops serve with 10,000 American and British soldiers in Helmand province.

Rasmussen called the target date a "wish," not a promise. The target is possible if NATO sticks to its strategy, he said.
