Prime Minister Denied Reinforcements, Says Former Army Chief

The former head of the British army says that Prime Minister Gordon Brown refused a request for additional troops in Afghanistan earlier this year, reports the Times of London.

Brown turned down a call for 2,000 more combat troops to be deployed in Helmand province, Gen. Sir Richard Dannatt told the Sun newspaper.
