Afghan and coalition forces carried out anti-Taliban operations in Zabul and Kandahar provinces on Thursday, NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) reports.
In the Qalat district of Zabul, a joint force searched a compound believed to be used by a Taliban commander responsible for several attacks in the region, said military officials. One militant was killed and several others were captured.
