In an unusual move, U.S. and NATO allies in Afghanistan have publicly announced the target of their first major offensive after the new surge of troops, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Military leaders have been suggesting for months that they would send a force to take the Taliban town of Marjah. This week, an allied press release said the attack was "due to commence."
The name of the operation is Moshtarak, which means "together" in Dari.
