The brother-in-law of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has been assassinated in Dushanbe, reports Interfax-AVN (Russia).
Unidentified gunmen fired several shots at Holmumin Safarov with a Makarov pistol, killing him instantly, according to the Tajik Interior Ministry.
Safarov was shot in the abdomen, chest and head, which likely indicated it was a professional shooter, said unnamed law enforcement officials.
