Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed has signed a law extending his mandate by another two years, reports Agence France-Presse.
The president, also known as Farmajo, signed the measure on Tuesday after it was unanimously passed by the lower house of Parliament, reported state broadcaster Radio Mogadishu.
The Somali upper house did not vote on the measure and its leader has criticized the decision as unconstitutional.
