Precision Kill System Reaches Production Milestone

The U.S. Navy has declared the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS), a laser-guided missile program, to be ready for production, reports BAE Systems, which build the weapon.

The APKWS will now begin low-rate initial production, with initial systems slated to be fielded later this year.
