The United Launch Alliance has placed another Wideband Global Satellite Communications (WGS) satellite into orbit, reports Boeing, which builds the spacecraft.
The seventh WGS system sent its first successful signals shortly after being launched on July 23 from Cape Canaveral, Fla. There is a planned constellation of 10 communications stations.
The launch from a Delta IV rocket was a day late because of stormy weather, noted CBS News.
