Senegal has deployed troops in the capital of Dakar following riots over lengthy power outages, Reuters reports.
On Tuesday, soldiers were assigned to guard ministry buildings and the presidential palace, said military officials. Armored personnel carriers and at least one helicopter gunship were reported in the capital.
Many Dakar homes and businesses have been without electricity for more than 30 hours.
