The United States has chosen the Baltic port of Klaipeda in Lithuania as one of its transit hubs to send supplies through Russia to Afghanistan, Agence France-Presse reports.
The rail convoys through Russia bring goods such as construction supplies, but not weapons or ammunition.
The first shipment through Klaipeda is due next month, said the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius.
Ports in the Baltic states of Latvia and Estonia have also been utilized by the U.S. for military operations...
